Analysis of Speaking Response – Task 2
It is very important to use the correct verb forms when you respond on the speaking test.
The verbs are underlined in the sample response below.
The verb form in noted in brackets after each verb.
Sample Response:
Cabo de Gata in southern Spain is [present simple] my favorite place because it is [present simple] on the sea.
I have [present simple] fond memories of this place since my family had [past simple] holidays there every summer when I was [past simple] a small child.
Actually, Cabo de Gata is [present simple] a popular holiday destination because it is [present simple] a natural park.
So, it has [present simple] protected areas for birds and learning centers where a person can find out [modal + base form phrasal verb] more about the ecology of the area.
The bird sanctuary is [present simple] a fantastic place that has [present simple] a peaceful atmosphere, and you can see [modal + base form] the most incredible species of birds and other wildlife there.
Another aspect of this place that I really enjoy is the fact that it combines [present simple] all of the features of the landscape that I love [present simple] the most.
I mean, you can look [modal + base form] at the mountains from the beach because the park is [present simple] located on the coast, and it is [present simple] near geological formations of volcanic rock.
